Our Cohort
The Building Power Network (BPN) is composed of government and powerbuilding organizations, including community groups and unions.
BPN partners apply to receive BPRC’s one-on-one support. Partners also meet regularly to share insights and lessons learned from our collective work.
2026 BPN
9 power-building groups and local champions are working across 12 school districts on district-wide green schools initiatives, including solar and geothermal installations
9 community-based organizations, coalitions, and local governments are seeking to implement a neighborhood-scale decarbonization pilot in California through SB1221 implementation
8 partners are piloting and scaling replicable campaigns—from green upgrades for public housing to thermal energy networks, virtual power plants, and mobile home retrofits.
Selection Criteria
BPRC selects partners that share our values and meet these criteria:
Experience winning campaigns by organizing working class people and/or environmental justice communities, and through building and coordinating a diverse coalition
Meaningful and accountable relationships between powerbuilding groups and elected officials/staff, who have the power to successfully implement policy
A clear initiative that will deliver good union jobs, lowered energy costs, and reduced climate pollution for working people
A realistic path to winning demonstration projects in the next 12–18 months.
